the rainbow bridge

just this side of heaven is a place called rainbow bridge.
when an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to rainbow bridge.
there are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
there is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
all the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
the animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
they all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. his bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers.
suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
you have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. the happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but
never absent from your heart.
then you cross rainbow bridge together....

dazzler: september 1994-january 15, 2007
daz was the service dog for my friend virginia. I only met him once, but that was enough for me to realize what a grate dog he was.
he had a grate sense of dignity and humor and could make you laugh in an instant.
dazz may have looked scary, and did accidentally frighten off some children once, but really he was a big teddy bear.

frenchy
beloved guide dog and best friend.
she loved playing, eating, work and begging for food.
frenchy's sense of humor was beyond that of most dogs.
born on may 25, 1995, frenchy lived an excellent 12 years until her death on april 27, 2007 (

justina: 07/25/1996-07/26/2007
tina worked as my guide dog for eight years before retiring in 2006
she spent the remainder of her life relaxing at the home of her puppy raiser until her battle with cancer was humanely ended.
a devoted guide and friend, tina will be greatly missed.

hester
1995-2008
a quote from her puppy raiser, kristine, who also raised justina and whom justina lived with for her last happy year.

"she was the best trainer my babies ever had.  she was patient and kind
to them all. welcomed each and everyone into our home and her papazan chair. the babies loved to climb up on top of hester and sleep there. she taught
them patience by chewing on the bone til they waited patiently for her to be done, then she would casually lick her paw and they would "sneak" in and steal
the bone. if she wanted to do something and the puppies were in the way, she would be so excited about something totally unrelated and get the puppies
attention on that so she could go back and do what she wanted without interference.

she is missed at every turn and will forever be in my heart. "
